About me.
My work is deeply personal. I am not only a Spellers Method Practitioner, I am also a sibling to a nonspeaking autistic person, a role that has shaped both my heart and my career.
Growing up alongside my brother taught me early on that speech is not the same as intelligence, and that communication can take many forms. Like many families, we spent years navigating systems that underestimated his abilities and limited his opportunities to express himself. Witnessing his true capability and the frustration of being unheard became the driving force behind my commitment to change how non-speakers are supported.
Determined to provide ethical, respectful, and effective communication support, I travelled to San Diego to train directly with Dawnmarie Gaivin, co-founder of the Spellers Method. There, I completed intensive training in motor-based communication, sensory-motor differences, and best practices for supporting nonspeaking individuals to communicate autonomously.
After qualifying, I brought this work back to the UK to ensure that nonspeaking individuals and their families could access high-quality Spellers Method support closer to home. Through my practice, Spell2Speak, I now offer assessments, 1:1 communication sessions, family coaching, and professional training for schools and practitioners.
My mission is simple but ambitious: to expand access to meaningful, autonomous communication for non-speakers across the UK and to challenge outdated assumptions about intelligence, competence, and voice. I am passionate about empowering nonspeaking individuals to express their thoughts, ideas, and identities, while equipping families and professionals with the knowledge and confidence to support them in everyday life.
Above all, I do this work because I believe every person deserves to be heard whether they speak or not.
